How long will the delivery of my order take?
At Coalbrook, our aluminium garden furniture is handmade and powder coated to order. Our standard lead time is 6 to 8 weeks from the date of an order to the date of delivery.
However, we may have stock for quicker delivery. Please contact us for an accurate production schedule.

Description
Along with artists such as Rossetti and Burne-Jones, makers like William Morris and architects like Godwin, Dr Christopher Dresser is regarded as one of the founders of the Aesthetic and Design Reform Movements.
During the 19th century, Dresser designed for an impressive list of manufacturers of indoor and outdoor furniture, textiles, glass, carpets, linoleum, ceramics, tiles, wallpaper and iron products. Dresser’s client list included the famous Coalbrookdale Iron Foundry, Libertys, Wedgewood, Aspinall & Co., Minton,the Linthorpe Pottery, Loveridge & Co. and many more. This illustrates why Dr Christopher Dresser is regarded as the first true freelance industrial designer.
The Coalbrookdale product catalogue of 1875 features the Waterplant bench on page 251. Dresser offered his own designs at the Universal Exhibition 1867, which included the ‘Water Plant cast iron garden seat’. The bench and chair were also exhibited in Paris 1878, London in 1871 and in Vienna in 1873.
The design was very unusual at the time, when most Victorian designs were a cacophony of ornamentation, Dresser rebelled and utilised the Waterplant form to convey a simplicity of outline.
Our accurate and high quality reproductions are cast in recycled aluminium. We manufacture the bench in lengths of 6ft, 5ft or 4ft and we also reproduce the Waterplant armchair. The benches and chair have cross members and the end bolts are made of solid brass, just like the original. To eliminate any maintenance, the slats on our reproductions are made of solid cast aluminium.
Our reproduction Victorian furniture is etched and then colour powder coated before being baked at 210 °C. This allows the powder coating colour to super adhere into the aluminium surface to create exceptional colour longevity.
All Coalbrook standing products now have screw-in nylon feet to protect the powder coating from scratching or chipping.

The Coalbrook hand crafted cast aluminium range can be left outside all year round in sun, rain, frost and snow. There is no need to cover or store our cast aluminium furniture. There is no need for maintenance.
At Coalbrook we are so confident that our vintage benches, tables and chairs will last, we offer a 10 year structural warranty on our aluminium castings. In the course of normal domestic use, our garden products will not break or bend, nor rust or rot.
Cleaning your Coalbrook maintenance free garden furniture is also extremely easy as the powder coated finish is so tough.To remove natural build up, simply wash down with warm water and a soft cloth or sponge.
NB Accidental damage by mistreating the furniture is not covered by our guarantee, although most knocks or dents can be easily rectified using touch up paints.
